Intangible Assets

  • The college, universities, and theological seminaries of the Metroversity Consortium educate citizens and generate a strong economic impact on the community.

They also provide major community assets as "by-products'' of their educational processes.

  • The Metroversity member institutions offer continuing education opportunities to area residents of all ages -- individuals interested in updating skills, redirecting careers, or finding educational enrichment.

  • Hundreds of cultural activities -- lectures, theater, concerts, art exhibits -- are scheduled each year.

  • Radio and television sports events and talk shows add to the spectrum of local entertainment, enrichment, and information services.

  • Metroversity member institutions offer special services and special education programs/courses for area senior citizens.

  • Metroversity Television airs from August to May on Insight, Cable Channel 25, presenting telecourse offerings for students, enrichment programming for the general public and local city and county government programs.

  • The Kentuckiana Metroversity, Inc. serves as the fiscal agent for the Kentuckiana College Access Center (KCAC). The KCAC is federally and locally funded and provides adult and youth college access counseling services. KCAC generates annual revenues of $797,000 from federal grants and $73,000 in local grants. The primary audience of clients for KCAC is first generation college students from low-income populations. KCAC counselors serve clients from public schools and agencies in the Greater Louisville-Southern Indiana region. All counselors at KCAC have Masters degrees and are professionally certified.
