Guidelines and Rules

Awards Guidelines

I. Application Information

The awards applications should be attached as the front cover to each of the four copies of the proposal submitted in this competition. All applications must be received by the 4th Friday in May. All proposals must be typewritten.

II. Proposal

Please respond to the following in the Proposal:

  1. Title of the course for which this proposal is submitted

  2. Identify the student population being served.

  3. Identify the teaching-learning problem(s) that the proposal addresses.

  4. Identify the specific objectives that will be accomplished

  5. Briefly describe the methodology employed to accomplish objectives

  6. Briefly describe the evaluation process that determines the degree of success achieved.

  7. Describe any required technology or media utilized.

  8. Specify the cost of implementation, including budget details.

  9. Please provide any additional details that may be useful in describing your proposal.

III. Abstract

On a separate sheet, submit an abstract of the proposal in no more than 200 words.

NOTE: A completed package cosists of (a) an Application Form; (b) a Proposal; and (c) a Proposal Abstract. Submit four (4) sets of the complete application to: Kentuckiana Metroversity, 200 W. Broadway, Suite 700, Louisville, KY 40202.

Rules

  1. The submitted proposal must involve a course that is or will be part of the approved curriculum where the faculty member teaches.

  2. It is important that the goals of the course be indicated and tat the means of measuring the attainment of those goals be outlined.

  3. The methodology of the course should be described in general terms and may be accompanied by a syllabus.

  4. An abstract of no more than 200 words must accompany the entry.

  5. The proposal should not require technology that is not usually accessible on campuses.

  6. Cost of implementation of the proposal must be within the general scope of a departmental budget. Out-of-town travel for class or extensive travel for the instructor should not be included.

  7. Previous winning projects are not eligible for the current competition. Previous winners are eligible.

  8. The award winner will be expected to employ the methodology proposed in an actual teaching situation in the immediate future.

The Kentuckiana Metroversity, Inc. reserves the right to withhold any award if minimal standards are not attained.
